Wanted: Auction Committee Volunteers

Our Silent Auction is a huge part of our fundraising efforts each year!  Our Auction Committee is moving full steam ahead creating must-have auction packages. We are excited to not only have our auction available at our annual 5K/10K For Kids Cancer event, but also an auction at the NEW Pumpkin Charity Ball in October with Receptions for Research: The Greg Olsen Foundation.  We are in need of more volunteer hands.

We don’t just need help securing items… but packaging them as well.  We receive such fun items from our generous community businesses and beyond:  Date night packages with hotel/dinner/limo, jewelry, kids activities, sports tickets and memorabilia, spa packages, vacations and more.  We would love for you to join our Auction Committee and help us make this year’s silent auction a success.  Our two auction needs are:

  1. Auction Procurement:  our community (and far beyond) have been so generous in donating items for our silent auction.  We need your help in requesting donations from local businesses and securing the items.
  2. Auction Packaging:  Don’t feel comfortable asking for donations?  We still need your help… just as much work goes into the packaging .

We hope you will join us and volunteer this summer to help make our silent auctions the best in town.  Interested in learning more, please email Melanie, our Auction Committee Lead: melanie@isabellasantosfoundation.org

Meet ISF: Lead Volunteer Coordinator

We are thrilled to have Kristine Sniegocki step up as Lead Volunteer Coordinator for ISF.  Kristine has committed to coordinate all our volunteer needs and efforts throughout the year.  This is a HUGE undertaking and we appreciate her willingness to jump in even deeper with the organization to help our fight against pediatric cancer.  Her  husband, Dave, is pretty cool too!  They have been volunteering with ISF a long time and we appreciate their willingness to help get things done.

One thing we have learned through working for a non profit… you bridge relationships with those you would have never met otherwise.  We have met incredible people with the biggest hearts through this organization and we hope you will want to join us to not only fight for pediatric cancer… create relationships fighting for one purpose.

A little bit about Kristine…

What is your favorite hobby?  Spending time with my family at the beach or lake

What’s one thing on your bucket list Item?  travel to Hawaii with my husband

Why volunteer with ISF?  I feel passionate about the cause to cure kids cancer.  I started volunteering for somewhat selfish reasons to give me something to do, but continue to stay because I see what ISF is doing and I’m excited to see what they can accomplish.

It’s because of people like Kristine that we continue to grow!  Email Kristine for specific volunteer questions or request to be added to our ISF Volunteer database:  kristine@isabellasantosfoundation.org

2018 Isabella’s Dream Team: Seeking Volunteer Cancer Crushing Leaders

After conquering many miles and many milestones over the past four years – we are Crushing Cancer again this year for your choice of several races. This team will be training in memory of Isabella Santos, who passed away from Neuroblastoma at the age of 7. We will train as one group starting in mid-July and then you can pick which race(s) would work best for you and your schedule!  The idea is to give you a choice- but also help cheerlead each other in our training schedules. Of course…along the training path- this determined group of runners will crush The Isabella Santos Foundation 11th Annual 5k/10K for Kids Cancer on Saturday, Sept 29th. The Dream Team tackled these races last year and raised over $110,000…and over $400,000 to date! Lets crush the pavement, crush our fundraising goal and crush cancer together again in 2018!

As many of you know from being part of this great group…the team work makes the dream work, so we are taking that motto and are implementing a new structure this year that will allow our passionate people to join forces to crush pediatric cancer together. This structure can apply to anyone that is interested in taking on a more active role on our dream team.

We are seeking leaders. We are seeking cancer crushers. We are seeking passionate individuals with a desire to take their role with our team to the next level. We have committed  $5 million to establish The Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program at Levine Children’s Hospital.  This program will impact more than just Charlotte as it will be the first of its kind in the United States. This is a volunteer based grassroots effort without the overhead of the large cancer charities.  Please email info@isabellasantosfoundation.org for more information
